Introduction

Welcome!

My name is Michelle Hochmuth and I am a NYS certified Social Studies teacher for grades 7-12 with a Masters of Science in Secondary Education from the State University of New York at Albany. I am looking for a challenging position in which I can utilize the skills I have learned in education classes and nurtured through my student teaching placements at Bethlehem High School (Bethlehem, NY) and Hackett Middle School (Albany, NY).

Grounded with the belief that all children have the ability to learn, I have created and implemented many lesson plans and projects that focus on differentiated instruction throughout my teaching placements. I am eager and excited to be given the opportunity to help students grow intellectually and emotionally, while providing them with the skills they need to succeed both in and out of school.

I have created this online teaching portfolio to assist you in getting to know me and my teaching practices. Within this site I have included my teaching philosophy, which is a short overview of my belief that all students have the ability to learn. A more in depth look at my teaching practices has been included within the link titled "Teaching Stance." I have also included unit and lesson plans I have developed and implemented in the classroom, as well as examples of student work. Lastly, I have added my resume and college transcripts under the credentials heading to provide a better sense of my qualifications as a teacher.

Thank you for taking the time to review my site and I look forward to hearing from you!

-Michelle
